Overview
The Department of Forensic Pathology was established in 1980s. After years of development, our department has become a national base for education, research and forensic practice in the field of forensic pathology and forensic clinical science. Our department consists of 12 faculty members, including 3 professors, 4 associate professors, 2 lecturers and 3 technicians.
Teaching
More than 20 postgraduate students are studying in our department now. For the undergraduates major in forensic medicine, we offer a series of professional courses, such as Forensic Pathology,Forensic Clinical Science,Forensic Toxicology,Forensic Clinical Medicine Practice and Forensic Pathology Practice. For other students in our university, we conduct lectures of Forensic Medicine,Progress and Practice of Forensic Medicine,Medical Law, and Police and Procurator Working on Forensic Medicine.
Research
Up to now, the faculty members in the Department of Forensic Pathology have led many high-level research projects supported by the National Natural Science Fund and the Key laboratory Fund from Ministry of Justice, and cooperated with top institutes and universities in the key scientific research projects. In the past 5 years, we published over 60 papers, edited 9 national level textbooks as chief editor or associate editor. Our research topics include the mechanism of mechanical injuries, application of radiological technology in forensic medicine, sudden death, forensic assessment of injury severity and disability, forensic insectology, etc.
Social Services
We actively offer forensic assessment services for the public, by which we gain national and international reputation.
