Prof. Liao conducts teaching tasks ofForensic Analytical Toxicology, Forensic Medicineand etc. for undergraduate students, oversea students, and postgraduate students at various levels. He is responsible teacher of the course“Forensic Toxicological Analysis”.With his effort, it was selected as the national classic course and the national high-quality resource sharing course. His academic interests focus on establishing determination methods related with toxicant as well as their metabolic process, pharmacokinetics and distributions. And his main research interests lie in abused substance. His research program is to exploit the metabolic process, body distribution, addiction mechanism of abused substance. He was the pioneer who involved metabonomics into the research on addiction mechanism. He is undertaking many projects including National Science and Technology Support Program, National Natural Science Foundation of China, CMB fund, etc. The ongoing research is “The metabonomics study on metabolic characteristics and the mechanism of toxicity induced by ketamine.”
He has published more than 80 research and educational reform papers, in which there are about 80 papers indexed by SCI or EI. He has cultivated and has been training more than 50 postgraduate students.
He is vice chairman of Toxicological Analysis committee of Chinese forensic society; Deputy Director of drug and toxicological analysis professional committee of Forensic Science Association of China; Editorial board member ofJournal of Forensic Science, Chinese Journal of Forensic Medicine, Journal of Forensic Science and Medicine. He is also one of the head of academic technology in Sichuan province. And he is the expert of excellence with outstanding contribution of Sichuan Province.
