Research areas: genomics of pathogenic microorganisms, pathogenic microorganism resistance mechanism and microevolution Academic achievements: Researcher Luo revealed that M. tuberculosis in the world originated in Africa, and proposed a close connection between the pathogenic evolution of M. tuberculosis and human social development; His research revealed that the highly prevalent M. tuberculosis Beijing family strains originated in the northern Han population and accompanied the Han population migration to all parts of the country; He participated in the establishment of a genotyping method suitable for the molecular epidemiological study of tuberculosis in China, and laid the foundation for the systematic assessment of the recent spread of tuberculosis in China. Related achievements were published in PNAS, Nature Genetics, Lancet Infectious Disease and other world-class SCI magazines.
